New York City, New York 32 contributions 15 helpful votes. I visit Bally's semi-frequently I prefer staying at Harrah's if I can , and I find that the service at Bally's varies WILDLY.
More so than the other properties in AC, and more so than the general changes hotels go through on a daily basis.
I checked in, not a long line in the lobby. Booked a room at the Dennis Tower, got a room in the Dennis Tower. I was ready for a quick nap, but to my dismay THE ROOM WAS DIRTY, and THE BED WAS A MESS!
It's a mistake that happens from time to time, so I did go back to the front desk to request a room change, which I received.
No problems from the front desk at all, it was a fast and easy switchover. Same tower, similar room. This new room they chose for me was clean.
The room decor was a little dingy, and somehow the room seemed a bit sparse. That's fine for me, I'm not looking for super fancy usually, and it was a decent room for my two-night stay.
Usually, I don't have any problems with the beds at Bally's but for some reason, this was not the greatest most relaxing sleep.
Two nights of it. The TV has some not all basic cable channels, local news, and the in-house Bally's channel with info on what's available during your stay.
The bathroom was basic but clean, and the towels were nice and fresh smelling. Soap, shampoo, conditioner was all provided, and it was enough for my stay.
I ate right in the hotel at Buca di Beppo, and had a great meal. Simple Italian food at good prices.
There is a Dunkin' Donuts in the main lobby, it is great for coffee, iced coffee, and whatever favorite beverages you have The main casino has lots of good options to play, and many new video slot machines.
Generally, I do prefer staying in the Bally's tower if available at the time I am booking my stay. Date of stay: February Value.
Sleep Quality. Room Tip: Book a room in the Bally's Tower if possible, better room types. Helpful Share. Crystal X wrote a review Jan 1.

Clean, comfy and spacious hotel rooms. Room service is on time and especially during covid times. Close by to other casinos and within minutes walking distance to the ranger outlets!
Definitely a prime location casino resort. Date of stay: January Trip type: Traveled with family. Hotel room is outdated.

The site now occupied by Bally's was originally the location of two separate hotels - the Marlborough-Blenheim Hotel and the Dennis Hotel.
The Marlborough House was built in by Josiah White III between Ohio Avenue and Park Place on the Boardwalk, in the Queen Anne style. The Dennis Hotel began as a pre-Civil War cottage along Michigan Avenue, built by William Dennis.
After the war, it was acquired by Joseph H. Borton, who extended the hotel and then built a large addition in , in the French chateau style.
Buzby hired Philadelphia architect Walter Smedley a fellow Quaker , to design a huge new six-story eastern wing, which was completed in In , the Michigan Avenue west wing was demolished and replaced with a larger six-story wing, also designed by Smedley.
In , with Smedley's practice having closed, Buzby hired another Philadelphia Quaker firm, Price and Walton, to design a seven-story addition to the Michigan Avenue west wing, which extended it seventy feet toward the ocean, bringing it even with the wing.
When they defaulted on the mortgage in , the hotel was returned to the Buzby family. It was soon after foreclosed by the First National Bank of South Jersey.
On March 14, , wealthy, flamboyant art dealer Reese Palley and local attorney and businessman Martin Blatt purchased the Marlborough-Blenheim from the White family.
Palley successfully got the Blenheim wing placed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. In June , Bally Manufacturing , the world's largest producer of slot machines, leased the Marlborough-Blenheim from Palley and Blatt for 40 years, with an option for a further years.
The new resort was to have a story, octagonal hotel tower and a huge three-level podium, containing a 75, square-foot casino, along with other resort and convention facilities.
In November , Bally demolished the Marlborough-Blenheim and quickly cleared the land to begin building Bally's Park Place Casino.
On December 30, , the casino opened with the newly renovated Dennis serving as its hotel. In , Bally constructed a room hotel tower in a modern style, with an exterior of light pink glass.
On July 2, , The Wild Wild West Casino opened as the second casino at Bally's. In , Bally's Park Place changed its name and became Bally's Atlantic City.
The adjacent Claridge Hotel and Casino was purchased and incorporated into Bally's in , and was renamed the Claridge Tower.
The casino in the Claridge Tower was named The Ridge. The casino was renovated in from a standard casino floor to an upscale lounge-casino.
In , Harrah's Entertainment later Caesars Entertainment purchased Bally's along with Caesars. In , The Ridge closed its gambling and food amenities.
The tower's hotel rooms continued to be used for Bally's guests until it was sold in to be reopened as the independent Claridge Hotel. In October , ownership of Bally's was transferred to Vici Properties as part of a corporate spin-off , and the property was leased back to Caesars Entertainment.
In April , Twin River Worldwide Holdings later Bally's Corporation agreed to buy Bally's Atlantic City from Vici and Caesars.
The deal excluded the Wild Wild West Casino which contains "The Book" sports betting facility, which would be transferred to Caesars Atlantic City.
Twin River also announced that they would acquire a license to give Bally's their own sports book, online sports betting, and I-Gaming.
The sale was completed in November Recent developments include games which combine the features of live table games with those of slot machines: The multi-player Roulette automatically spins the ball, but the bet and payout function is mostly handle by computerized video terminals for each player.
Also, in the Wild Wild West area, a video recorded "blackjack dealer" on a big TV screen "deals" as the player bet on a video terminal which shows their "cards" in a multi-player game.
Bally's also has a sportsbook which offers sports betting.
